Ghost Stories Event

By Jacob Clark

On October 6th, 2020, the Alfred State Paranormal Investigation and Urban Exploration Club hosted a campfire stories event held on Microsoft Teams. This event was to tell stories about paranormal events, largely involving students on Alfred State’s campus. The Mackenzie complex is reputed to be the most haunted on this campus. While there were no experiences on campus shared at this event, some had stories to share from outside of campus.

The Alfred State Paranormal Investigation and Urban Exploration Club often takes trips to the Allegany County Poorhouse and this has multiple reports of paranormal events occurring. John Currie, the president of the club, shared a story from one of these trips. He went to the house last semester and had a depressed feeling while walking through the building, while other rooms made him feel pressure on his chest. This is where he had actually caught the voice of someone on recording. After this he had a spirit grab his heavy leather jacket and pull him back. After these events occurred, he had heard a click on the other side of the building when he went over to check it out it was a heavy deadbolt making this sound near the attic.

The club is hoping to host another event similar to this one in the future. For anyone looking to experience the paranormal, or to share their past experiences, look for more events hosted by Alfred State’s Paranormal Investigation Club
