Thanksgiving Break

Dear Students, 

     Residence halls will close at 10:00pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 for Thanksgiving Break. Residence halls will reopen at Noon on Sunday, December 1, 2019. 

     Only students who have been approved to stay for the break will be allowed in the residence halls. Residential Services is aware that the final bus scheduled to leave Alfred leaves before 10:00pm. If you are here for an Academic reason and cannot make the bus, please contact your Residence Director to remain on campus for Friday evening. However, you must make arrangements to take the first bus out on Saturday morning. All others may be charged with trespassing. If you wish to apply to stay for the break, please complete the application at: https://reslife.acesalfred.com/breaks

Prior to leaving please be sure to:

• Close all windows and blinds/ shades

• Unplug all electronic devices (including Refrigerators)

• Take out all garbage

• Lock your room door

     Your room will be inspected by a member of the Residential Life staff and the staff will unplug any electronic devices that are left plugged in. Please notify your Resident Assistant of an approximate time you will be leaving. 

Students will only be approved who:

• live outside of 500 miles from campus

• are working for the college (with your supervisor’s approval)

• are part of an approved athletic team

Looking for a ride home for the break? 

Alfred State has worked with the Alfred Travel Center to offer low-cost express options to New York City.

The college also offers low-cost transportation options to the Rochester Airport where you can fly to nearly anywhere, and take a short trip to a train station.
